Custom domains — Reocities Docs

Custom domains

You can serve your site from your own domain instead of a reocities.xyz subdomain.

Pointing your domain

At your registrar, create a record pointing the hostname you want to use at Reocities, then add that domain in your site settings so the server knows which site to serve. Propagation is usually quick but can take up to a day.

www and apex

Decide whether your canonical address is example.com or www.example.com and link to that one consistently. Serving identical content on both without a canonical link splits your search results between them.

Keeping the subdomain

Your reocities.xyz address keeps working after you add a custom domain, which is useful as a fallback while DNS settles.
