What a free site includes, and where the ceilings are.

Storage

Free accounts include storage sufficient for a normal hand-built site; premium raises it. Video is far and away the biggest consumer of space — a single uncompressed clip can outweigh an entire text-and-images site.

Backups

Backups are kept automatically so you can roll back a bad edit, with more retained on premium. Keeping your own copy of anything irreplaceable is still wise: the safest backup is the one you control.

Fair use

Sites exist to be read by people. Using an account purely as a file drop for hotlinking elsewhere, or to serve content unrelated to a website, is what fair-use limits are aimed at.
